Out for a walk

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...
Yesterday, when I got home from my shoppe, Wally (our dog) and I went for a walk. It was a little warm outside and before long, I was panting. Wally was enjoying every step we took.
When we walk we make circles around our cul-de-sac, meaning we pass by our house several times. That way, when I get tired I can stop walking and go inside. Wally is never ready to stop. He loves our walks.
I had worked hard yesterday, so we only made two laps. Two laps, however, was enough steps that my Smart Watch dinged after I came inside and flopped down on the sofa, with exhaustion.
My message read, “it looks like you are working out.” I laughed. I rarely work out and I don’t classify two laps in the cul-de-sac as working out. But hey for the first time in a while, I impressed my Smart Watch.
When I was a child, my parents oftentimes said, “never believe everything you hear and only believe half of what you see.”
Now that artificial intelligence (AI) exists, we can’t believe much of anything we see or hear. This, to me, is somewhat frightening. I’m leary every time I sign on Facebook. I’ve been scammed a couple of times because of the way something looked. I fell for the lies of a hacker.
A friend of ours had a favorite saying years ago. “If in doubt, don’t.” I think of his remark quite often and have learned to heed his advice, even If I want something really bad.
Maybe someone needs to tell my Smart Watch that this girl is tired late in the afternoon, and she’s more than likely not working out. She’s simply enjoying God’s great creation with her best friend, Wally.
Don’t be fooled like my Smart phone. Things are not always as they seem. My new saying is, “don’t believe anything you see or hear. Just take a nap on the sofa. And It will all be ok.”
