On February 23, 2025, a deputy patrolling the HWY 280/Slade Road area initiated a traffic stop on a 2017 Nissan Altima for failure to maintain the minimum speed and lane.
The driver, Koa Starr, was not the owner of the vehicle, and an information search determined that Starr was on Felony Probation. After conflicting answers to the same questions, the deputy gained permission to search the vehicle. Starr stated, “Someone asked me to hold something for them, and it’s in my purse.” Inside an eyeglass case, the deputy found a crystal-like substance believed to be Methamphetamine, several small zip-loc baggies, and a glass smoking device. Also discovered in the search was a large amount of what appeared to be newly issued credit and debit cards. Starr was placed under arrest and transported to the Crisp County Detention Center.
Another Deputy arrived on the scene to stay with the vehicle until the owner could arrive. Upon arrival, Sandy Mosley was verified as the owner, and in the process, it was determined that Mosley had an active warrant out of the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office. Mosley was placed under arrest and transported to the Crisp County Detention Center.
