Christ Episcopal Church of Cordele delivered comfort blankets made by church women for children in foster care to the Cordele office of Department of Children & Families.
Wanda Parker Jackson, a church member and CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) for children volunteer, voiced a desire to help children in care as a church outreach ministry. The idea of comfort blankets was born.
Women joined together, measured, cut and tied 18 no-sew blankets for children removed from their homes. The blankets are something of their own to provide them warmth and comfort.
Sixty donated back packs were also delivered.
