Cordele First Church held its annual Scout Sunday service on February 9, 2025. The Reverend Larry Rollins opened the service with several announcements before turning the program over to Senior Patrol Leader Jacob Frost of Cordele Boy Scout Troop 270.
Frost welcomed the congregation to the service, then asked everyone to rise for the presentation of the colors. Next, he requested the attendees to join the Troop in the Pledge of Allegiance. After the Pledge, the flags were posted at the front of the church and the Scouts recited the Scout Oath and Law.
Later in the program, the Scouts collected the offering and delivered it to the altar.
The service continued with an inspiring sermon by Brother Rollins. Cordele First Church, Troop 270, and Pack 270 have long-standing relationships.
Troop 270 Scouts in attendance were SPL Jacob Frost, Jake Atkins, Landon Atkins, Gabe Browning, and Mason Phillips. Scouters included Scoutmaster John Frost, Charter Organization Representative David Wade, Assistant Scoutmaster Britt Brinson, and Troop Committee Members Brady Atkins and Mary Phillips. The Scouts were joined by prospective member J’Mar White.
The Troop was joined by Cordele Cub Scout Pack 270. Cub Scouts at the service were William Bridges, Marc Chavez, Conor Robbins, and Xylus Sinnot.
