Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Jeffrey Alan Collins of Cordele went home to be with the Lord on January 23, 2025, after a long battle with cancer. He was 57. Originally from Vienna, Jeff was a graduate of Dooly County High School. He served in the National Guard and spent most of his early career working as a commercial driver for numerous companies including Lasco and BBC. He went on to start a local lawn care company, Collins Lawn Grooming, which he and his son have operated for nearly 20 years serving numerous local residents and businesses. He is survived by his parents, Reuben Collins of Vienna and Cheryl McCarty Collins of Cordele, and a brother, Robert Collins of Warner Robins. He was married to Michelle Gilbert Collins of Arabi for 33 years. He leaves behind a daughter, Sarah-Ann (Russ) Hopper of Pitts, and a son, Jared Collins of Cordele. He has two grandchildren, Cora (3) and Jeffrey Hopper (10 mo.), and is expecting another granddaughter this spring. Jeff’s faith in Jesus Christ was central to his life, and he was a dedicated member of Union Baptist Church in Pitts. He served there as a deacon, was a member of the choir, and taught Sunday School for many years. He loved the Lord, spending time with his grandchildren, and cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs. The family will have visitation on Monday, January 27,  beginning at 1:00 pm at Union Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at  2:00 pm. He will be laid to rest at Union Cemetery. The family would like to extend our gratitude to the doctors and nurses with oncology at Crisp Regional and Emory University for their compassionate care during his battle with cancer. They would also like to thank the nurses with Crisp Regional Hospice for their help during his final days. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Union Baptist Church.Arrangements are by Rainey Family Funeral Services. An online guest register is available at www.raineyfuneral.com
