A memorial service for Tonia Marie Richards of Cordele will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 18, 2025, in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. The family will receive friends prior to the service that day beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Tonia, 67, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at her residence. Born in Trenton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Walls and Virginia Bernice Cupps Walls. She was also preceded in death by her son, John Jeffrey “JJ” Richards, Jr. Tonia enjoyed relaxing and taking time to get away with her late husband, Larry Waddell. Her children and grandchildren filled her life with happiness and she enjoyed taking vacations and spending time with them. Tonia is survived by her children, Lance (Jessica) Richards and Robert Dax (Jamie) Richards, all of Cordele; three brothers, Tommy LeRoy Walls, Sr. of North Carolina, Larry Walls of Tennessee and Todd Walls of Florida; two sisters, Elaine Carter of Florida and Lisa Bryant of Nashville, GA.; 10 grandchildren, Sunshine Richards, Tyler Richards, Rylee Richards, Madalyn Richards, Audrey Richards, Taylor Tripp, Austin Richards, Trenton Richards, Lynnz Kinard and Riner Richards; and her caregiver, Dru Peterson, who gave her so much love and support.
