John Lee “Johnny” Noble, 81, was called to meet his Lord and Savior on December 8, 2024. Johnny was born in Vienna, Georgia to Roy Vernon Noble, Sr. and Myrtle Bush Noble.
Johnny was a 1960 graduate of Vienna High School where he was active in baseball and football. He attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and the University of Georgia, where he majored in Business. He was a proud member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, where he formed lasting friendships that enriched his life and created bonds that endured for decades.
After college he returned to Vienna to join his father and brother in the family farming and cotton ginning business. Throughout his life, he served in various capacities with the Georgia Cotton Commission, the National Cotton Council, The Cotton Board, and Cotton Incorporated. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Middle Georgia EMC for 29 years.
Johnny was an active member of Smyrna Baptist Church for many years, and he taught a Sunday School class for over twenty-five years.
Johnny had many interests and hobbies, and he was an avid reader. The Noble and Bush family histories were very dear to him. He and his late cousin John Allen Noble enjoyed many in-depth conversations discussing memories and any new information that might have surfaced. Johnny also took a special interest in Native American history and artifacts. He spent many hours walking through freshly plowed fields searching for any “arrows” that might have turned up. He was also a proud and highly enthusiastic UGA football fan.
Johnny is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Beth Williams Noble, daughter Tonya Noble-Moore and beloved son-in-law David Moore of West Lake Hills, Texas, daughter Anna Leigh Noble of Perry, Georgia, sister Angela Noble Gordy, and sister Elaine Noble Johnson and brother-in-law Tracy Johnson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy Vernon Noble, Sr. and Myrtle Bush Noble, brother Roy Vernon Noble, Jr., brother-in-law Benjamin Bussey Gordy, Jr., sister-in-law Ann W. Noble, and his faithful and ever-protective companion, Bo the Mini Dachshund.
Johnny was a doting father to his two daughters. Tonya and Anna Leigh relied on him for his sage advice and guidance throughout their lives, and he was always there when they needed him.
The family would like to thank the staff at Summerhill Nursing and Rehab for their excellent care and dedication. They would like to extend special thanks to Sandra Grace for her unwavering support and kindness over these past few years.
The family will be holding a visitation on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 2:00PM at Hughes & Wright Funeral Home in Cordele. Graveside services will follow at 3:00PM at Vienna City Cemetery.
