Recruiting is the lifeblood of any organization. Scouting is no exception. Cordele Boy Scout Troop 270 is looking for young men, ages 11-17 to help fill its ranks.
Several adult Scouters spent time at the Central Georgia Fair manning a recruiting table in an effort to talk to potential members and their families. This effort follows on the heels of visits to primary and elementary schools in the Crisp County School System and Crisp Academy.
Our recruiters at the Fair were Assistant Scoutmaster Britt Brinsin, Charter Organization Representative David Wade, and Troop Committee Member Jody Fletcher.
The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
If you know a boy who would like to “Live Scouting’s Adventure” or would benefit from the leadership and service opportunities offered by the Scouting program, please bring them to one of our meetings. Our Troop meets at the Historic Cordele Boy Scout Hut each Monday evening from 6:30 until 8:00. The Hut is located at 1101 South 3rd Street.
