Flock alert leads to arrest of wanted person in possession of a stolen vehicle

Deputies with the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office received an alert via the Flock system.
The alert was in reference to a stolen 1999 GMC Denali out of Montgomery Minnesota with a possible armed and wanted suspect driving the vehicle. Deputies located the vehicle in the parking lot of LOVES truck stop. The Deputies and members of Mid-South Narcotic Task Force made a tactical approach to the vehicle. The suspect was asleep in the back seat with a loaded shot gun within arm’s reach. The suspect, 29 year old Bryton Nelson was taken into custody without incident. Nelson is wanted for Violation of a Protection Order out of Scott County Minnesota, and Theft of vehicle out of Rice County Minnesota.
Bryton Nelson faces the following charges in Crisp County:
Possession of Weapon by a Convicted Felon
Possession of a Weapon in the Commission of Certain Crimes
Theft by Bringing Stolen Property into the State
