Ruby Mae Boyd was born September 19, 1923 to the late Waymon Lucas, Sr. and Mary Sims Lucas in Marvell, Arkansas. She is the third of eight children. She is also the only sibling living.

She accepted Christ at an early age at Sequell Baptist Church in Marvell Arkansas. She married the love of her life, the late Rev. S.T. Boyd Sr.  and this union seven children were born. Three have preceded her in death.

Ruby always offers kind words, love and words of encouragement. She dearly loves the Lord and always trusts Him for everything. Through Ruby’s lifetime she has seen and experienced a lot of heartaches and pain but still keeps the faith and trust in God.

Ruby has been living in Cordele since 2014 with her daughter, Ella Boyland who is now her caregiver. Ruby always says “put everything in God’s hands and leave it there” and that she does.
