Barbara Ann Bridges, age 85, of Cordele passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2024, as the result of injuries she received in an auto accident.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 6, 2024, in Vienna City Cemetery. The family will speak with friends following the service.

Barabra Ann was born in Irwinville to the late Bryant Owens and Avis Richardson Owens. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Norman T. Bridges, and siblings, Wayne Owens, Gerald Owens, Frank Owens, Gracie White and Glenda Peters.

Barbara Ann was a homemaker and a faithful and active member of Lake Blackshear Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and she loved her church and her church family. Gospel sings were a favorite pastime in her spiritual life. She enjoyed working in her yard and her flowers and making sure the birds were fed each day. She was the glue that held her family together and she held a special place in her heart for all the members, especially her grandchildren.

Barbara Ann is survived by her two daughters, Betty Cumbus and her husband, Jimmy, and Lillian Gonzales, all of Cordele; a brother, Donald Owens of Abbeville, and a sister and her husband, Eva and Dave Jackson of Austelle; two grandchildren, Rebecca Cumbus and Matthew Cumbus; a great-granddaughter, Lexie Brown and a great-great-granddaughter, Isabella Leigh Brown, who was the apple of her eye and her reason to live each day; a special friend, Andrew Grimsley; and her furbaby and constant companion, Molly.
