Lake Blackshear Resort is proud to participate in the annual Girl Scouts Love State Parks Day offering fun and educational activities for all.
Saturday, September 14, 2024: Bird Exploration and Craft Session
Meet our Park Naturalist at the campground activity shelter from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM. Learn about the diverse bird species native to our area and enjoy a hands-on craft activity that celebrates our feathered friends. This event is perfect for all ages, and everyone is welcome to join.
Sunday, September 15, 2024: Self-Guided Tree Activity
Visit the Visitor Center anytime between 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM to participate in our self-guided tree activity. Complete the worksheet and receive a special “Girl Scouts Love Georgia State Parks” sticker. This activity is open to all, and we encourage families to explore the beauty of our park’s trees together.

This event is open to everyone, so bring your curiosity and creativity!
Saturday, September 28, 2024: Annual State Parks Day – Volunteer for a Cause
Celebrate Annual State Parks Day with us by giving back to the community and helping preserve the natural beauty of Georgia Veterans State Park. Volunteers are needed for various cleanup projects around the park. Meet us at the Visitor Center at 9:00 AM to get started. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a positive impact and support the environment.
