Mary Singletary Perry of Cordele passed into the arms of Jesus Friday,  August 2, 2024 at the age of 78. She was born in Cordele to the late William Oscar Singletary and Mollie Lewis Singletary. She was also preceded in death by six of her siblings. Mary was a para-pro for 25 plus years at J.S. Pate School where she loved each and every one of her children and she was loved dearly in return. She enjoyed being a homemaker, keeping her home immaculate and cooking for her family. She was an avid gardener with her vegetables and flowers. She harvested her vegetables and being the selfless person that she was, she also enjoyed sharing her bounty with others. She enjoyed sewing and was always happy to be on a camping trip. Her biggest passion in life was her family and especially loving and spending time with her grandchildren. Mary is survived by her husband of 60 years, Charles Perry of Cordele; two children, Sherry (Keith Chipps) Hardeman of Arabi and Craig (Amy) Perry of Cordele; a brother, Herschel Singletary of Texas; a sister, Nina (Kenneth) Starrett of Cordele; two grandchildren, Jesse (Makayla) Hardeman and Savannah (Tommy Bagwell) Perry; and one great-granddaughter, Adelynn Hardeman. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 5, 2024, in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services with burial to follow in Ebenezer Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service Monday beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  Memorials in Mary’s name to Pruitt Hospice 708 East 16th Avenue, Cordele, GA 31015 would please the family.
