On July 8, 2024 a portion of State Route 30 from Mile Marker 7 to Mile Marker 8.7 in Crisp County has been officially dedicated and forever known as Deputy Tyee Browne Memorial 1.7 Miles. The community gathered in the Rapids Warehousing parking lot to unveil the signs that dedicate this memorial highway not only to Deputy Tyee Browne, but to his family, friends and fellow law enforcement.
In attendance were many law enforcement from surrounding communities, representatives from Crisp County Commission, Representative Noel Williams, Senator Carden Summers, State Transportation board member Tim Golden and many communities members that came in support of this dedication.
Representative Noel Williams read the resolution from the House of Representatives which was official earlier in the year.
After the dedication, the family put out memorial wings next to the sign that were handmade by family members.
