Ann Coleman Mitchell, 83, of Cordele passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at The Haven Assisted Living in Newnan. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her loving and faithful husband of 45 years, Sammie Mitchell. Also, she was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Lee and Annie Rogers Coleman and two brothers, Carlos Coleman and James Coleman. Born in Wilcox County, Ann and her late husband Sammie, were co-owners and operators of Mitchell’s Bait and Tackle. Until her declining health, she was an active member of Cordele First United Methodist Church, and the Wesley Sunday School Class. A beautiful soul with a sweet spirit, Ann always shared her smile with everyone she met. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially working in her flowers and yard. Most important to her was her family, and cooking and enjoying meals together around the family table brought her lots of happiness. Ann is survived by two sons, the delights of her life, and their wives, Mark and Brenda Mitchell of Newnan, and Jimmy and Dionne Mitchell of Cordele; two brothers, Sonny Coleman of Cordele and Larry Coleman of Panama City, FL, a sister-in-law, Shirley Coleman; five grandchildren, Carrie Mitchell, David Mitchell, Sheila Meshanko (Paul), Holly Arrington and Kasey Colston (Jamie); and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, July 8, 2024, in the chapel Of Rainey Family Funeral Services with burial following in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
