South Georgia Gnats go 10-0 and win the Cooperstown All-Star Village Tournament. Jude Rhodes, from Pitts, Ga, and a rising 7th grader at Crisp County Middle School was a part of the winning team. The Gnats, coached by former MLB shortstop and World Series Champion, Stephen Drew along with Tray Mills and Joe Mederos, took 15 boys from South Georgia to Cooperstown New York and watched the boys dominate. Over the course of 10 games the Gnats hit 35 home-runs and their defense and pitching were stellar. To hear about Cooperstown is one thing but to actually go and play there is an experience like no other.

Jenna Rhodes stated, “Walking out on that field for game one I was so nervous, but after the first at-bat everybody settled in. We stayed in the bunkhouses together and really bonded with each other and kids from all over the country. The day we visited the Baseball Hall of Fame and watched the video about what it means to play baseball really inspired us to leave it all on the field. Playing there, hitting a home-run, and winning is something I will never forget. Knowing people back home were watching us was very special. I cannot say thank you enough to everybody who supported us.”
