Crisp County native to play in New York on Women’s Professional Fastpitch team

Riley Blampied a 2020 High School graduate of Crisp County High School and 2024 University of South Carolina Graduate joined the Kiwanis Club as a special guest on June 6, 2024. Riley has spent most of her life playing softball, with her recruiting started in 8th grade. Riley has accomplished many achievements in softball over the years including; All State in High School, and winning gold at the 2017 Pan-America Games in Columbia with the USA’s U17 team. Her team was also qualified for the World Cup, but unfortunately Covid-19 hit and they were unable to play.
She originally had planned to go to the University of Alabama but changed her mind and chose the University of South Carolina where she has recently graduated with a Bachelor in Retail Management. She has spent the last 4 years playing softball with the university and will continue working with the team next year as a Grad Assistant to the coaches whilst she take her Masters in sport and entertainment management. After her two years as a Grad Assistant she hopes to continue in the sport of softball as a coach.
Recently Riley tried out for a New York Women’s Professional Fastpitch team and was chosen to be on the team this summer. There are only four teams in the league, New York, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Florida. She will spend June 19th through July 28th traveling to the different cities to play.
