The University of Georgia, Crisp County Extension, and SNAP-Ed team up for a summer campaign promoting healthy hydration habits! The “Drink Water, Georgia!” campaign aims
to educate Georgians about the benefits of drinking water for overall health. The campaign will utilize various media channels and text messaging to encourage participants to choose
water over sugary drinks like sweet tea, soda, and sports drinks.
Participants can sign up for the seven-week program by texting “WATER” to (833) 712- 1267, with messaging starting on July 5th . The program will provide tips and recipes to help
participants reach the recommended daily intake of water – 11.5 cups for women and 15.5 cups for men. Staying hydrated is especially important in the hot Georgia sun, where
sweating increases the need for fluids. To ensure hydration success, participants are encouraged to carry a reusable water bottle and set reminders to drink water throughout the day.
The campaign will reach Crisp County residents through social media and newspaper articles. For more information about the Drink Water, Georgia! Campaign, contact Crisp County at uge2081@uga.edu or the University of Georgia SNAP-Ed Program at snap-ed@uga.edu.
