The Withlacoochee Lodge of the Order of the Arrow sent 35 members (Arrowmen) to the Section E6 Conclave at the Gerald Lawhorn Scout Base, about twenty minutes west of Thomaston, GA. Three of the Arrowmen were members of Cordele Boy Scout Troop 270, Scout Simon Baker and Scouters Britt Brinson and Terry Fennell.
Section E6 is made up of eleven lodges. The Conclave ran April 19-21, 2024. The annual Conclave is a gathering of all of the lodges. It is hosted on a rotating basis by each Lodge. The theme for this year’s Conclave was “Conclave in Paradise.”
The Order of the Arrow is Scouting’s National Honor Society. It was founded in 1915. The OA recognizes Scouts and Scouters who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Scout Law in their daily lives.
Over 600 Arrowmen attended this year’s Conclave. Next year’s Conclave will be held at Bert Adams Scout Camp just south of Covington, GA. The Withlacoochee Lodge last hosted Conclave in 2021 at Camp Patten, in Lanier County.
