Troop 270 Performs Service at Grits Festival

Warwick held its annual National Grits Festival on April 13, 2024. The organizers asked Cordele Boy Scout Troop 270 to direct vehicle parking at three of their parking lots that were closest to the activities.
The Troop was glad to help, as we have done so for several years. And boy, we were busy, as beautiful weather brought out the crowds.
The festival was due for some nice weather. The last few years saw cool and wet to cold weather that held the crowds down. This year’s event saw about 50 vendors.
Scouts from Troop 270 who helped at the event were Jacob Frost, Riley Herrick, Cody Ngo, Benjamin Nipper, and Jensen Wade. Adult Scouters who volunteered their time were Scoutmaster John Frost, Charter Organization Representative David Wade, Troop Committee Chair Terry Fennell, Assistant Scoutmaster Britt Brinson, and Troop Committee Member Gerry Nipper.
If you know of a boy, ages 11-17, who might like to “Live Scouting’s Adventure” or would benefit from learning leadership techniques and how to serve others, please have him drop by the Historic Cordele Boy Scout Hut on any Monday evening from 6:30 to 8:00. The Hut is located at 1101 South 3rd Street in Cordele.
