Benjamin Nipper becomes Troop 270’s latest Eagle Scout

Benjamin Nipper, son of Melanie and Gerry Nipper of Cordele, completed his Board of Review to earn the rank of Eagle Scout on April 11, 2024. He becomes the 35th young man to earn the coveted rank in the 34-year history of Cordele Boy Scout Troop 270 and the 75th Eagle Scout from a Crisp County Boy Scout Troop. Eagle Scout is the highest rank attainable through the Boy Scouts of America.
Benjamin joined Troop 270 on April 1, 2017, after crossing over from Cordele Cub Scout Pack 270. He has earned 33 merit badges, which also qualified him for bronze and gold palms. Palms are awarded for every five merit badges above the 21 required for Eagle.
Benjamin is a 2021 graduate of National Youth Leadership Training, an advanced leadership and team building course offered at the Council level by the Boy Scouts of America. He is also an Ordeal member of the Withlacoochee Lodge of the Order of the Arrow, Scouting’s national honor society.
Benjamin is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Outen and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Nipper, all of Cordele. He is a member of the Mustangs soccer team of the Central Georgia Arts and Athletics Varsity Soccer league.
Benjamin’s older brothers, Bailey and Brandon, are also Eagle Scouts. They were members of Cordele Boy Scout Troop 270.
