Press Release – Crisp County School System
Crisp County Middle School is celebrating the end of construction on its campus. Crisp County School System leadership, along with Board Members, CCMS staff, and other community leaders, were at the school for the ribbon cutting on the new Athletic Complex, Wednesday morning, March 27th. CCMS students moved into the new school facility in November of 2020. Construction on the Athletic Complex began in November of 2022 and was completed last month with CCMS hosting their season opening baseball game on February 10th. Representatives from James W. Buckley & Associates, the architectural firm who designed the complex as well as Smithbuilt Construction Group, the general contractor of the project were also in attendance to celebrate the opening of the long awaited facilities funded through local eSPLOST.
The Athletic Complex, adjacent to Crisp County Middle School includes a baseball field, softball field, press box, concessions, restrooms and storage for the complex, seating for baseball and softball, six tennis courts, a football/soccer practice field and parking. “The athletic fields at Crisp County Middle School demonstrate our efforts to improve our facilities because our students and community deserve the best. They will serve as points of pride for Crisp County School System students, families and community members. We are grateful for the support of our Board of Education and our community in our ongoing commitment to improving our school facilities” says Superintendent of Schools, Cindy Hughes.
