A time to share and remember the life she lived will be held for Sharl Ann Trussell of Cordele at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2023 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services.
The family will greet friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Sharl Ann passed away Saturday, November 18, 2023 after a hard fought battle with cancer. Born in Cordele, she was the daughter of the late Charles Cleveland and Mary Ola Brookerd Mcgee. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Marty McGee.
Sharl Ann was a Nurse Practitioner with the Albany Area Primary Health Care. She wore her smile and love for all to see and put her heart and soul into doing for others through her chosen field of medicine. She was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church and the Pioneer Sunday School Class. Sharl Ann enjoyed sewing, crafting and scrapbooking. She was an avid traveler and in some of her traveling she loved to camp. Her biggest passion in life though was her family. She found much joy and happiness in the family gathering together, whatever the occasion might be.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Zeke W Trussell, Jr. of Cordele; four children and their spouses, Brady and Stefani Atkins of Cordele, Lisa and Andy Dixon of Elberton, Walter and April Trussell of Cordele and Angie and Nick Laing of Gulf Breeze, FL; nine grandchildren, Kate and Malaki Strickland, Madelyn Trussell, Grant Trussell, Grace Dixon, Bryce Laing, Landon Atkins, Abigail Trussell, Ella Dixon and Jake Atkins; and a brother and his wife, Neil and Lisa McGee of Cordele. For those desiring to send memorials, the family would be pleased with donations to the Pinecrest Baptist Church Renovation Fund, 1007 19th Avenue East, Cordele, GA, 31015.
