Funeral service for Rickey Wayne Calhoun, age 65 of Cordele, will be Monday, Jun 8, 2020 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. Rev. Ricky Smarr and Rev. J.T. Smith will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday, Jun 8, 2020 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services.  Due to social distancing guidelines, seating for the service will be limited and all in attendance are encouraged to bring and wear a mask.

Rickey  passed away on Friday, Jun 5, 2020 at Crisp Regional Hospital.  He was born on Apr 13, 1955 in Cordele, Georgia to Beauford Alfred Calhoun and Thelma Louise Calhoun. He lived most of his adult life in Vienna, Georgia. He was an active member of Victory Baptist Church. In addition to his family, he loved to fish, sing, and play guitar. He sang with ‘The Happy Singers’ for 42 years and had been playing with the ‘Dixie Rhythm Boys’ for the past two years.

He is survived by his Wife, Linda Gail Calhoun of Cordele;  Son, Joshua Wayne Calhoun (Kimberly) of Rochelle;  Brother, Danny Alfred Calhoun (Rhonda Lee) of Kansas City, MO;  Brother, Tony Morris Calhoun of Nevada;  Brother, Bobby Eugene Calhoun (Rhonda Lynne) of Orange Park, FL; and Father, Beauford Alfred Calhoun (Modena) of Cordele, GA. He was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma Louise Calhoun.
