Louis A. Owens, 71 of Cordele, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2020 at Crisp Regional Hospital. Due to government restrictions, a private graveside memorial service only will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 14, 2020 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

He was born in Cordele and was the son of the late Ralph Owens and Lucy Latham Owens. Louis was a mine inspector (RET) with the federal government and an active member of Lake Blackshear Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman. An excellent mechanic, he enjoyed working on cars. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Celena L. Owens; two daughters, Jennifer Owens (Mitch Cox) and Erica Owens (Jamie Guined), all of Cordele; a sister and her husband, Jimmie Lou and Henry Moore of Cordele; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
