Coroner awaiting toxicology, autopsy reports in April 25th death

Crisp County Coroner Jimmy Rainey said he is awaiting a toxicology report along with autopsy results from the GBI Crime Lab in the case of a 55-year-old Cordele woman who was found dead at 1801 Quail Run on Saturday, April 25.
Officers with the Cordele Police Department responded to the Quail Run address at approximately 7 a.m. Saturday, April 25 after receiving a call regarding an unresponsive person. Vaneece Nelms Brooks, age 55, was determined to be deceased, according to a press release from the Cordele Police Department.
Cordele Police requested the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to assist with the scene investigation, according to the agency’s release. Since the incident is under investigation, no further details will be released at this time, the CPD release further stated.
Rainey said he could not comment further on the case until he had received the toxicology report and autopsy results, which could be eight to 12 weeks from now.
