COVID-19 death toll up to six in Wilcox, six in Dooly, two in Crisp

The Georgia Department of Public Health’s Wednesday status report on COVID-19 cases shows that the fatality count in Dooly and Wilcox counties has risen by one overnight to six deaths in each county. The number of Crisp County residents who have died from COVID-19 remains at two, according to the department report.
The public health agency further reports that 128 Crisp County residents have tested positive for the viral respiratory disease while it has identified 73 Dooly County residents and 46 Wilcox County residents as COVID-19-positive.
Crisp Regional Hospital, which also releases raw data on its fight against COVID-19 at least once daily, reports that it has tested 385 patients since the pandemic hit Georgia. As of Wednesday, 141 of those patients (not all of whom necessarily reside in Crisp County) have tested positive. Negative tests total 232, and 12 patients (four inpatients and eight outpatients) are awaiting results.
The hospital reports it is currently treating 26 COVID-19-positive inpatients and monitoring another 108 COVID-19-positive outpatients. Crisp Regional has discharged 30 inpatients who have recovered from COVID-19.
