From a Middle Georgia EMC Press Release
Middle Georgia EMC is and has been closely monitoring the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic. The safety and well being of our members, employees and their families is our top priority. With that in mind we are taking all necessary steps to help mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on our members, employees and our business operations. As you have seen in just the last week the COVID-19 situation changes almost daily and we will adjust accordingly. With that in mind Middle Georgia EMC will continue our normal business hours of 8 am – 5 pm Monday-Friday but the decision has been made to close the office lobbies at our Vienna, Hawkinsville and Rochelle locations to the public until further notice. Please utilize our drop boxes to make payments as we will check these periodically. Payments can be made by phone at no cost to you by calling (229) 268-2671 or (800) 342-0144. Members can also access accounts and pay online or through our smart apps available in the App Store and Google Play. We have also suspended all disconnects for nonpayment as well as all related late fees on regular and pre-pay accounts through April 16, 2020. Please remember though disconnects may not occur it remains the responsibility of the member to pay on their accounts as much as possible to help avoid a large balance in the future. Do not hesitate to call us to discuss any co-op business or questions you may have.
“We want to assure our members Middle Georgia EMC remains a 24-hour operation with employees on-site and on-call.
