A memorial service for Jesse L. Cox will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 20, 2020 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. The family will greet friends following the service. The service will be limited to 50 people.
Jesse passed away at his residence in Arabi. He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Lynette Cox, and siblings, James L. Cox, Louise Dudley and Earnestine Brown. He was born in Sycamore and was the son of the late Jesse Larry Cox Sr. and Edna Carmel Hodges Cox. Jesse enjoyed fishing and woodworking. He attended many craft shows with Lynette and his granddaughters. He played guitar, sang in the choir and was a member at Wenona Baptist church. In later years, Jesse spent much of his time with his beloved dogs, Peppi and then Buddy. He also enjoyed coffee and errands with several neighbors who were dear to him, Jake and Betty Jones and Melissa and Lonnie Nelms.
He is survived by his son, Odia Gene Cox (wife Fonda Morgan Cox) of Haslet, Texas; granddaughters, Kristen Dawn Graddy (husband Daniel Graddy) of Senoia, Ga. and Kerri Lynn Cox (fiancé Cody Norman) of Ft Worth, Texas; great granddaughter, Nora Elaine Graddy of Senoia, Ga.; brother, Norman H. Cox (wife Pat Cox) of Coco Beach, Fla., several nieces and nephews; and friend/ex-daughter-in-law, Nancy Cox of Americus, Ga.
