A memorial service for Stephen C. Carter of Cordele will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2020 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. The family will meet with friends immediately following the service.

Stephen, 65, passed away Monday, March 9, 2020 at Crisp Regional Hospital. He was born in El Paso, Texas to the late Carson L. and Virginia Stapleton Carter. He was also preceded in death by his wife of thirty years, Phyllis A. “Brandy” Carter. Steven worked for a number of years at Triple A Electric and Air Conditioning in Galliano, La. and in 2006 he and Brandy retired to Cordele. They were members of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where he sang in the choir and occasionally taught Sunday School. In retirement he and Brandy raised Pedigree dogs. Stephen was an avid gun collector and enjoyed range shooting.

He is survived by his younger brother, Clay J. Carter of Ashburn and his older sister, Kathy C. McIver of Wingdale, N.Y. Memorial donations made be made to the building fund for Pleasant Grove Baptist Church at P.O. Box 281, Cordele, GA 31010.
