Gherefiel family offers reward

The Cordele Police Department announced Tuesday that the family of Jared Gherefiel, the 31-year-old Cordele man who was found dead on Tuesday, Jan. 14, is offering a $3,400 monetary reward for “credible information leading to the arrest and conviction of those involved in his death,” according to a department press release.
“We believe additional people have information about Jared’s death and ask they come forward with that information,” Cordele Police Public Information Officer Capt. Andrew Roufs said.
Cordele Police officers initially responded to a call of ‘shots fired’ in the early morning hours of January 14 in the area of 4th Avenue and 3rd Street. First responders found Gherefiel’s body, but there were no suspects on hand and the incident remains under investigation in conjunction with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Region 3 Office.
