A graveside service for Hubert H. “Buddy” Watson, Jr., 85, of Cordele will be held Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Warwick Methodist Cemetery. The family will greet friends immediately following the service. Buddy, as he was affectionately called, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2019 at Crisp Regional Hospital.  He was born in Centerville to the late Hubert Hill Watson, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Sasser Watson.  A retired veteran of the United States Navy, he was also a boiler technician at the Albany Marine Corps Logistics Base.  An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Buddy is survived by his wife of 57 years, Evelyn Matilda Bennett Watson of Cordele; a son and his wife, Hubert “Bud” Watson, III and Cathy Watson of Cordele; a sister, Phyllis Quirk; and a grandson, Stephen Hill Watson of Greenville.
