Two arrested after attempting to elude

FROM A CRISP COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE PRESS RELEASE:
Crisp County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Daniel Mulkey, a 34-year-old male, a resident of Crisp County at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2019. Deputies also arrested Darlise Cox, a 35-year-old female, a resident of Coweta County at approximately 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2019. Mulkey and Cox face charges of Theft, Burglary, Obstruction, and further charges are pending investigation. Dooly County Sheriff Craig Peavy also requested a hold on both subjects for similar charges in Dooly County.
At approximately 4:15 p.m. Crisp County Deputies attempted to apprehend two subjects wanted from Dooly County on Old Albany Road. Both subjects fled to a nearby field. After the subjects were spotted laying in the field by Deputies, Mulkey attempted to flee again. Cox was placed under arrest and transported to the Crisp County Detention Center. Crisp County Sheriff’s Office deployed K-9 units from Crisp and Dooly County. A Crisp County Deputy continued to patrol the area and later spotted Mulkey walking down Old Albany Road. Mulkey was arrested and transported to the Crisp County Detention Center with no further incident.
“I would like to thank the Dooly County Sheriff’s Office and the Cordele Police Department for assisting this afternoon,” Stated Sheriff Billy Hancock.
