CORDELE — Funeral services for Wayne Carter, 78, will be at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, May 11, 2019, in the Chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, May 10, 2019 from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m.

 Wayne was born in Rome, Ga., to late Howard Carter and Frances Thompson Carter. He is preceded in death by his daughter Amber Joy Carter and his brother, Bud Carter. He was a retired truck driver for Trucks, Inc.

 He is survived by his wife: Karen Black Carter of Cordele; his son: Perry Carter of Cordele; his brother: Leroy (Wanda) Carter of Cordele, his sisters: Glenda (Johnny) Rhodes of Cordele, Violet Watson of Vienna and Marlene Scott of Columbus; as well as several nieces and nephews.
