Funeral services for Julia Florence Crenshaw Penley of Dalton will be Friday, April 26, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Union Baptist Church in Wilcox County with burial following in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends prior to the service Friday beginning at 10 a.m. at the church.

Julia, 79,  passed away Sunday, April 21, 2019 at Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton.  Born in Wilcox County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Crenshaw and Christina Baker Crenshaw. In earlier years she had served with the police department in Baton Rouge, LA but had retired from Silverdale Workhouse as a guard. Julia loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and all of nature. Feeding the birds and animals were a passion to her. She also enjoyed designing and sewing doll clothes, especially Barbie outfits, and watching TV.

She is survived by her children, Deborah (Drew) Bennett of Warwick, Kelvin Denham of Dalton and Judy Koscieny of Tunnel Hill; five grandchildren, Crystal (Shannon) Stewart, Brandon Martin, Dillon Merry, Sheena Denham and Daniel Denham;  and one great-grandchild, Cameron Bennett.
