Dorothy “Mama Dot” Kelly Watson, 90, of Ashburn passed away Sunday, March 17, 2019 at her residence.
Affectionately known as “Mama Dot” to many in the community, she was born on February 17, 1929 to the late Lake Buford and Essie Lee Cantrell Kelly. She loved God, her family and friends. She was the retired owner of Watson’s “Deep Creek” Grocery, a homemaker and a loving wife and mother. Her greatest job came from spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
She is survived by her sons, Hugh Watson of Ashburn and Tim (Donna) Watson of Ashburn; daughters, Gail (Greg) Walls of Ashburn, Brenda Brandt of Sylvester and Pamela (Al) Dervan of Albany; twin-sister, Doris Kelly Johnson of Leesburg; sixteen grandchildren; twenty eight great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Watson her children, Linda Watson Gilreath, Eddy Ingram, and Danny Ingram and her siblings, Marvin Kelly, Gene Kelly and Robert Kelly.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Perry Funeral Chapel with interment to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at the funeral home.
