The Crisp Academy baseball team brought their record to 2-0 so far on the season with an 11-1 road win over region 3-AA rivals Windsor Academy on Tuesday afternoon.
The CA Wildcats took an early lead with two runs in the top of the first inning. Will Hubbard and Dylan Farmer each scored in the inning after opening the frame with consecutive hits.
The Windsor Academy Knights scored their only run of the game in the bottom half of the first, leaving CA with a 2-1 lead going into the second inning.
Spencer Stubbs led off the top of the second with a base hit, and he later came around to score the third Wildcat run of the game after a pair of Windsor mistakes. The Wildcats were ahead by a score of 3-1 for the next couple of innings, and they finished the game off for the run-rule win with eight runs in the top half of the fifth.
Baylor Pless had a two-run double that scored Hubbard and Famer in the top of the fifth, and Griffin Gravitt followed with an RBI-single before scoring on a wild pitch.
Later on in the frame, Julian Floyd hit a two-run single to score Stubbs and Garrett Gravitt for a 9-1 Wildcat lead. Hubbard and Farmer each added RBIs towards the end of the frame for the final two runs of the day, leaving the score at 11-1 in favor of CA entering the bottom of the fifth.
The Knights were unable to bring the score any closer during the bottom half of the fifth, so the game ended after five innings of play.
