U.S. Hwy 41/7^th Street is scheduled to close for one day next week at a rail crossing in Cordele to allow Norfolk Southern Railroad to replace cross ties.

The location of the closure is on the rail line that crosses U.S. 41/7^th Street just south of 16^th Avenue. The crossing will close from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16.

The date is subject to change depending on the rail company’s schedule. Detour signs will direct motorists. Traffic will use 24^th Avenue, 11^th Street/Joe Wright Drive, and U.S. Hwy 280/16^th Avenue.
