A Cordele teen who went missing Friday has been located and is safe according to a statement from the Cordele Police Department.

“The missing 15 year old, Shakhira Hawkins, has been located and is safe. We want to publicly thank Crisp County Sheriff’s Office, Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Crisp County District Attorney Brad Rigby. We are investigating further and will send an update at a later time,” noted CPD Public Information Officer Lt. Andrew Roufs in an email sent at around 10:22 Wednesday night.
