Tuesday, December 11 

The Dooly County High School basketball teams both picked up home region wins over Schley County on Tuesday night. The Lady Bobcats beat Schley County 46-38 on the night led by Tierra Burden, who finished the contest with 19 points, nine rebounds, five assists, one block and seven steals. Sha’Nyah Bolden scored 12 points in the game, and was credited with three rebounds and two steals on the stat sheet. Other scorers in the game for the Lady Bobcats were: Antanazsha Robinson with five points, Miracle Fields with four, Malaysia Manning and Ty’tianna Williams both with three points apiece. The Lady Bobcats were 2-3 overall on the season with a region record of 2-2 after Tuesday’s win.

The Bobcats knocked off Schley 56-46 on Tuesday night for their fourth region win of the season. Zeff Felton, Jeff Felton and Shamon Zanders all had productive nights to lead Dooly to the victory. Final Dooly County stats from the game: Zeff Felton- 15 points, 14 rebounds, one assist, three blocks and one steal, Jeff Felton- 15 points, 14 rebounds, one assist and one block, Zanders- 15 points, three rebounds, four assists, and one steal, Towandi King- seven points, one rebound, and one assist, Rashad Lucas- four points, four rebounds, one block and one steal, Bubba Almond- one rebound, one assist, and one steal. Tuesday night’s win put the Dooly County Bobcats at 4-0 in region play so far this season with a 4-1 overall record.

The Dooly County teams were scheduled for home games tonight against Manchester High School, and they are both scheduled to play at Hawkinsville tomorrow night for region road games starting at 6 p.m.

 

The Crisp Academy varsity basketball teams were in Macon for games at Windsor Academy on Tuesday night. The Lady Wildcats were defeated in their game by a score of 62-51, while the Wildcats came up with a win in the boys’ game 80-72.

 

The Wilcox County High School teams continued their early season region game schedule with matchups against Atkinson County on Tuesday night. The Wilcox Lady Patriots defeated Atkinson 63-39 in their game and brought their record to 6-2 (4-1 in region play) with the win. The Patriots moved to 8-0 overall on the season (5-0 in region) with a 60-47 win in the boys’ varsity game. Both Wilcox teams were scheduled to play Clinch County tonight, and they are scheduled for games at Dodge County tomorrow night starting at 6 p.m.

 

Fullington Academy hosted Sherwood Christian for games on Tuesday night. Sherwood came up with the win over Fullington in both games, with the Lady Trojans falling to the Lady Eagles 67-39, and the Trojans dropping their game 61-41.

Wednesday, December 12 

The Crisp County High School varsity teams played road games at Houston County on Wednesday night. The Crisp County Lady Cougars fell to Houston 60-40 in their contest. Alexis Porter was the leading scorer for Crisp County in the game with 14 points, and she also grabbed two rebounds and three steals. Other Lady Cougar final stats: Aaliyah Hardemon- seven points, two rebounds, two assists, and one steal, E’lacious Holt- five points, one rebound and two steals, Peyton Bozeman- four points and three steals, Adasia Lee- four points, five rebounds, four blocks and two steals, Chelsey Harvey- two points, two rebounds and one steal, Jadah Mumphrey- two points and five rebounds, Vernasia Sanders- two points, Nikujha Smith- one rebound, Zabria Armstrong- one rebound.

Houston County defeated the Cougars in the boys’ game by a final score of 76-62. KJ Williams was the leading scorer in the contest for Crisp County with 21 points, and he had seven rebounds, three steals and an assist to go with his points. Ty McKenzie had 17 points on the night for the Cougars and led the team in rebounds with 11 total, while also recording three blocks, four steals, and an assist. Final stats for other Cougar players: PJ Coleman- seven points, one rebound, one assist, and six steals, Tubby Spivey- four points, eight rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one steal, Willie Poole- two points, two rebounds, one assist, and one steal, Cortez Thomas-two points, three rebounds, and one steal, Nathan Willis- two points, one rebound, one block, and one steal, DJ Nixon- two points and one rebound, Malik Hall- two points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals, Damion Cross- one point, AJ Lofton- one steal.

The Crisp County varsity teams are scheduled for games against Americus-Sumter tomorrow night starting at 6 p.m., and they will both be playing in various Christmas tournaments over the next couple of weeks following today’s games.

Thursday, December 13 

The Crisp Academy basketball teams both fell in road region games at Southwest Georgia Academy on Thursday night. The Lady Wildcats were beaten 62-39 by the Lady Warriors. Maddie Milani led CA in scoring in the contest against SGA with 24 points. Other CA scorers were: Bryanna Brock with six points, Mia Purvis with four, Maggie Bullington with three and Elizabeth Williams with two.

The Warriors beat the Wildcats in the boys’ game by a final score of 73-64. Griffin Gravitt was the leading Wildcat scorer in the game as he finished the contest with 25 points. Spencer Stubbs also put up double digit points with 12. Other Wildcat scorers versus SGA: Trey Williams- eight points, Julian Floyd- seven, Cooper Folds- seven, Zach Atherton-three, and Jacob Gravitt- two.

Both CA teams are 2-3 so far on the season and they are next scheduled to play away games against St Georges Episcopal on Thursday starting with the girls’ game at 6 p.m.
