A graveside service for Mary Helen Bass of Arabi will be Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Arabi Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. Saturday morning prior to the service at Rainey Family Funeral Services. Mary Helen passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Heart of Georgia Hospice in Perry. Born in Zebulon, she was the daughter of the late William Elvin Perkins and Nina Mae Shivers Perkins. She was a retired seamstress and homemaker, and an active member of Arabi Church as long as she was able to attend. Mary Helen is survived by her husband of 36 years, Norman E. Bass of Arabi;  three children and their spouses, Tammy and Joe Jolly of Cordele, Dianne and Charles Hill of Byron and Randy and Sherry Snow of Clayton, six step-children and their spouses, Deborah and Mike Robinson and Denise and Alton Self, all of Griffin, Tim and Janice Bass of Belvedere, TN, Terry and Gail Bass, and  Marty Bass, all of Griffin and Tracy and Terry Bass of Williamson;  a brother and his wife, Calvin and Helen Perkins;  32 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many friends, the residents and staff that she loved at Veranda West of Summer Hill in Perry. She was preceded in death by a step-son, Mark Bass and brothers, Ronnie Perkins, William Elvin Perkins, Jr., Milton Donald Perkins and Charles Eugene Perkins.
