PINEHURST– A Dooly County Middle School teacher, Ricky Weston was arrested on Friday, May 18 at approximately 11 a.m. after an altercation with a student at the school on May 10. The student’s parents reported the incident to the Dooly County Sheriff’s Office. Dooly County Investigators began looking into the case and charged Weston with Simple Battery. Weston turned himself in at approximately 11 a.m. on May 18, posted bond and left the jail the same day. The case has since been turned over to the District Attorney’s Office.
