Funeral services for Jeanette T. Peavy of Vienna were held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2018 at Friendship Baptist Church in Wilcox County with Rev. Bobby Pope and Rev. Danny Rhodes officiating. Gladys Gregory read a poem and Rodney Thomas, pianist played a medley of songs. Alice Powell provided music for the Victory Quartet as they sang “Beulah Land”, “Tears Will Never Stain The Streets” and “God’s Promise Land.”  They also sang “He Touched Me”, “I Want To Stroll Over Heaven With You”, “It Is Well” and “O What A Savior.” The service was closed with “The Old Rugged Cross.” The committal service followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Greg Speight, Kevin Speight, Andy Speight, Ron Fowler, Dusty Carr, Shea Newman, Dylan Barfield and Jay Pope. Jeanette, 85,  passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Church Home and Life Spring Rehab in Fort Valley. Her husband, Ozie Quinton Peavy, Sr. and two grandchildren, Douglas Quinton Lynch and Candice Dianne Vaughn, preceded her in death. Born in Unadilla, she was the daughter of the late Jessie Thompson and Maggie Goodroe Thompson. She was a homemaker and a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She sang in the choir and loved gospel music. Jeanette loved her Lord and enjoyed doing for others in any way that she saw a need. Her passion was her family, especially her grandchildren. Jeanette is survived by her children and their spouses, Quinton and Patricia Peavy, and Dianne Holtz, all of Vienna, Debbie Speight of Perry and Susan Peavy and her fiancé, Jay Pope of Vienna; grandchildren and their spouses, Laura and Dusty Carr, Greg and Lauren Speight, Lindsay and Shea Newman, Kevin Speight, Andy and Christie Speight, Ashley Jackson, Tiffany and Ron Fowler and Jesse Holtz; and great-grandchildren, Dylan Barfield, Sarah Jackson, Cole Jackson, Addisyn Newman, Jaxon Fowler, Drew Speight, Lily Pierce and Cullen Speight.
