Malissa Dawn Darsey, age 49 of Hawkinsville, Georgia died on Monday, December 19, 2016 at Memorial Hospital in Savannah, Georgia. Funeral services will be held on December 22, 2016 at 3 p.m. at New Covenant Church of Cordele, Georgia with Pastor Joe A. Brookshire and Rev. James Fennell officiating. Interment will be at Sunnyside Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.

Malissa was born in Crisp County on October 6, 1967 to Joseph and Linda Whitman. She was a member of the New Covenant Church in Cordele and was a caregiver to many of the residents of Kingsford Personal Care Home in Hawkinsville.

Malissa is survived by her husband, Timothy Scott Darsey of Hawkinsville, Georgia; parents, Joe and Linda Whitman of Cordele, Georgia; son, Orlin Yoder of Culman, Alabama; daughter, Courina Miller of Culman, Alabama; sisters, Stacey Carter of Cordele, Georgia and Jessie Singletary of Cordele, Georgia. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Ronnie Darsey of Hawkinsville, Georgia.
