It is all set the Wildcats are in the playoffs; the only problem is they don’t know who they are playing yet. Even with all the Homecoming festivities going on and after beating up badly on David Emmanuel Academy 53-8 in Bobby Davis Stadium Friday night, the 7-2 Wildcats have to flip a coin to see who gets a bye in a three way playoff they are in. DEA, Crisp Academy and Nathaniel Greene are in a 3 way tie and are going to have a modified playoff of sorts to determine their seeding for the state playoffs. The mini playoff will take place Monday.
The Wildcats wasted little time in scoring as they drove quickly down the field and William Purvis plunged in from 1 yard out. The PAT was no good as it was all night. Wildcats 6-0.Next up gage Little scored on 3 yard tote and the Cats moved to 12-0. There was little that DEA could do to stop the juggernaut that was Crisp Academy Friday night they really scored pretty much at will and didn’t allow the Eagles to fly at all. It wasn’t just one scoring either besides Purvis and Little, William Bodrey, Blake Odom, Bobby Ray Mitchell, Griffin Gravitt and Garrett Holt all scored at least once on the night. However, they only got one two point conversion the whole night and it was scored by Bodrey. Purvis did manage to kick a PAT as well.
“I am very pleased with the boys play tonight, this team they just beat was undefeated and now we are in the hunt, it was a good effort tonight,” said Head Coach Price Jones. The Dispatch will be printing stats from this season in upcoming editions. For the night though the Big Cats had over 500 yards of offense.
