MACON – Mr. Robert L. “Bob” Hicks, Jr., age 72, of Macon, died Saturday, September 24, 2016 in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after an extended illness.  He was a native of Cordele, was a 1962 graduate of Crisp County High School, and lived most of his life in Macon.  He worked in office supply furniture sales for many years in Macon.  After retirement, he worked with Quality/Foremost Transport based in Goshen, Indiana for ten years.  He was Baptist by faith, and was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. Hicks, Sr. and Judy Wester Hicks.

Mr. Hicks is survived by a sister, Martha Hicks Ellzey of Savannah; two children, Paula Avy Parson of Vidalia, and Todd K. Avy of Lewisville, North Carolina; his companion, Annette Hardy of Macon; and numerous cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 1st at 2:00 p.m. in the Highland Hills Baptist Church in Macon with Reverend Sam Rogers officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hephzibah Children’s Home, 6601 Zebulon Rd. Macon, GA 31220-7606.
