Funeral services for Jeannine Chapman, 85, were held Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016 at 3 p.m. at Oakfield Baptist Church. Burial follwed in the church cemetery. Rev. Jimmy Black and Rev. Danny Kimbrell officiated.

Barbara Brysch, pianist, played for the service. She also accompanied the congregational hymn “When We All Get to Heaven” led by Dan McPherson. Dan McPherson also sang “I Can Only Imagine.” Chuck Farmer accompanied himself on the guitar as he sang “Somebody Prayed for Me.”

Serving as pallbearers were: Bennie Sawyer, Chris Moore, Adon Haas, Dan McPherson, Bobby Harrah, Dennis Baggett and Ted Smith.

Mrs. Chapman died Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016 at PruittHealth – Sylvester. She was the daughter of the late Charles Walls and the late Evelyn Brogdon Walls. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Chapman, and her son, Steven Chapman.

She was a member of Oakfield Baptist Church where she served at church treasurer. She loved to sew, read and spend time with her family. She was affectionately known to her family as “Goose.”

She is survived by her son, Charles (Patricia) Chapman of Orlando, Fla., and her daughter,  Carole (A. W.) Gill of Oakfield; eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Oakfield Baptist Church Cemetery Fund 305 Jackson Street, Oakfield, Ga. 31772.
