First responders work motor vehicle accident

CORDELE — Shortly after 5 p.m. this evening officers with the Cordele Police Department, Cordele Police Department and Crisp County EMS responded to a two-vehicle accident on South 4th Street.
At the scene witnesses reported that a pickup truck was driving north on 4th when the driver failed to yield for a stop sign, striking a passenger vehicle before overturning, hitting several small trees in a nearby yard before coming to rest on its top.
The driver of the truck had to be extricated from the vehicle and was transported by EMS. The driver of the car was walking around but was later examined by EMS.
