CORDELE — Over 300 people turned out to visit with some 20 plus business representatives at a recent Job Fair held at South Georgia Technical College’s Cordele Campus.
SGTC partnered with the Cordele-Crisp Chamber of Commerce and the Georgia Department of Labor to put on the event to help match businesses with potential employees and give citizens an opportunity to get their applications or résumé to businesses that may be hiring.
“Job fairs are very beneficial,” said Valerie Hines, Marketing Coordinator for SGTC. “Both for those seeking employment and those businesses looking to hire. It also helps students connect directly with employers.”
Hines said students at SGTC are graded on work ethic and that is a qualification that employers look at when looking to hire someone.
