CORDELE — Funeral services for Billy Lee Rogers of Cordele will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Cordele First Baptist Church with Rev. Ray Sullivan officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service Tuesday beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Rogers, 59, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016 at his residence.  He was born in Atlanta and was the son of the late Rev. Ozell Rogers and Irene DeVine Rogers. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Tomequa Rogers.  A Veteran of the United States Marines, he was a truck driver and an active member of Cordele First Baptist Church. Mr. Rogers is survived by his wife of 20 years, Phyllis McCrary Rogers of Cordele; five children, Tiffany Jackson, Stacy Fulmore and his wife, Carmesa, Lacie Rogers, Cassidy Rogers and Auther Rogers, all of Cordele; two brothers, Michael Rogers and his wife, Angela of Washington, DC and Ozee Rogers of Warner Robins; a sister and her husband, Carrie and James Hicks of Jonesboro; and four grandchildren, Markell Rogers, Ariel Rogers, Dillon Hollis and Sterling Thomas.
